April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. She is among only a handful of female beach volleyball players that have done so. Alix Klineman is a new Olympian and is set to join her in Tokyo. Ross also hopes to get her very first Olympic gold. It may well be that she has one opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. Nevertheless she is confident that winning the gold medal is in reach. If we perform at our very top or do well, I believe we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. Therefore, I'm hoping to have some luck also. Ross was born August 22nd, 1982 at Costa Mesa California. She lived there with her family. At Newport Harbor High School, she competed in numerous sports. She was a basketball player and also ran track in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits in her time as a college athlete. While she did well when playing indoors but it was apparent that her skills were above normal. In her college volleyball season as per her college bio, she was an outside-hitter, middle blocker and setter. Gatorade Circle of Champions named her the national Player 1999. In 2000, she was named Orange County Athlete of the Year for volleyball. Even though Ross and Klineman are a couple since the year 2017, Klineman was already a big-time player on the beach scene prior to their team. It's true that she has had the chance to win numerous events, one of which was with a legendary volleyball player. Between 2007 and 2013 she was in a partnership by Jennifer Kessy, who is currently her coach. Ross, the teammate of Kessy's, who was the winner of the world championship with Kessy in 2009, was also a major force on international stage. The duo eventually captured a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team to beat for the gold. Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's departure. In 2016, the pair won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a Trojans player for the USC in her college prior to becoming a professional. Her time in the Trojans' ranks was an impressive one. When she was a freshman in 2000 the Trojans' performance earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman-of-the-Year honors. In 2000, her Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. The second season of her career she suffered a devastating personal loss, yet earned the distinction of being an All-American. Over the course of the two years she played for the Trojans they helped win consecutive championships. She was a fantastic volleyball player and won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the best female volleyball player at the college level. Ross was an international relations student at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the chance to watch her daughter become an international beach volleyball star. When Ross was in her sophomore year studying at USC her mother died of breast cancer. However, she keeps her parents close to her his heart. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration to her, both on and off the beach.
